Elementary School (K-5)

The elementary school at Bromley East Charter School is a comprehensive program consisting of phonics, reading, spelling, writing, math, social studies, and science. All K-5 grade levels consist of five classrooms, each led by an amazing team of teachers. Our curriculum is standards-based and includes Ready Common Core (RCC) Reading, enVision 2.0 Math, Foss Science, as well as a variety of other additional traditional and online resources. All classrooms have access to technology, with grades 2-5 having devices (iPads in 2nd grade, Chromebooks in 3rd-5th) assigned to each student.

K-5 students also have Specials classes integrated into their day: Students attend Art, Leadership (Leader In Me), Library/Technology, Music, and Physical Education each one day per week. Students in 5th grade may choose between general music and band.

Also built into the daily schedule is dedicated time for targeted learning, to address the diverse needs of our students.

To further enhance the learning experience, field trips are taken at all grade levels, which may include:

Kindergarten - Anderson Farms

1st - Mazzotti Farms Pumpkin Patch/Corn Maze, Denver Zoo

2nd - Arvada Center for the Arts

3rd - Littleton Museum, Bunk with the Beasts (Denver Zoo)

4th - Four Mile Historic Park, Overnight at the Museum

5th - Denver Botanic Gardens, AmeriTowne

As a Leader In Me school, all Bromley students learn about Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits and continually grow their leadership skills. Beginning in kindergarten, students select their Wildly Important Goals (WIGs), identify the Lead Measures that will help them achieve their WIGs, and have a Cadence of Accountability - a plan that assists in the monitoring and accountability of the goal. Also beginning in kindergarten, students learn how to lead their own parent/teacher/student conferences.

We look forward to partnering with you on this great journey, from welcoming our youngest learners, to preparing our 5th graders to transition to middle school.
