Attendance

Regular attendance is a key factor in a child’s academic success, social development, and confidence in the classroom.
The gold standard for student attendance is being in attendance 95% or more of school days. With Bromley's school year consisting of approximately 165.5 to 166.5 days, this means students should be present for at least 157 to 158 days annually to meet this important benchmark.
While occasional absences are unavoidable, consistent attendance helps ensure your child fully benefits from their educational experience. Even a few missed days can disrupt a child’s learning and make it harder for them to stay on track with their peers.

Reporting Absences
If your child needs to miss school, please use the Absence Reporting Form on the Family Portal Page to notify us. This ensures we have all the information we need to process your student’s absence quickly and accurately.
Please note that we do not accept phone calls to report absences.
Preparing For Missed Days
To help your child stay on track as a result of planned or unplanned absences, please communicate directly with your child's teacher.Bromley does not provide work in advance for pre-planned absences.
Students will be provided work upon their return and will receive one day for each day absent after receiving the work to complete it for full credit.
Student Pick-Up Procedures
Your child’s safety is our priority.
If you need to pick up your child during school hours, please:
- Always have a valid legal ID ready to show at the doorbell and again in the main office.
- This process helps us follow security guidelines and ensures a smooth and safe pick-up experience for everyone.
