Visual Arts

Elementary aged boy and girl deeply focused as they paint in art class

In our K-8 Visual Arts program, students learn foundational techniques while exploring their own ideas and style.

Students work with a variety of mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media, as they refine their skills and bring their creative visions to life. By analyzing artworks and receiving feedback, they further hone their abilities and develop their unique artistic voice.

Along the way, they dive into the Elements of Art (like color, line, and texture) and the Principles of Design (balance, rhythm, and emphasis) which are the building blocks of a solid artistic foundation.

Whether it’s a kindergartener proudly showing off their first painting or a middle schooler refining a complex project, every student has the chance to grow and shine!

Leadership Through Art

Through projects like school murals and community art initiatives, students learn to collaborate, share ideas, and step into leadership roles. Whether they’re guiding a project or inspiring their peers, these experiences help students build confidence and develop the skills to lead in their own way.

Celebrating Creativity

We love showcasing our students’ talent and hard work!

Events like our annual school art show and participation in the 27J District Art Show give students the chance to display their art and feel the pride of sharing their creativity with the community. These moments remind students that their voices matter and their contributions are valued.
