Theater (6th-8th Grade)

Group of students on stage in the auditorium during a Theater performance.

Theater at Bromley East is where imagination, teamwork, and lifelong memories take center stage.

Our middle school theater program gives students the chance to explore every aspect of the craft—from acting, to improvisation, script-writing, set and costume design, and lighting and sound applications—with each year bringing a fresh perspective and new skills to learn.

  • 6th Grade: Students discover the art of storytelling, learning how to shape and share ideas in a way that captivates an audience.

  • 7th Grade: The spotlight turns to the technical side of theater, like set design, costume creation, and lighting/sound, giving students the tools to bring their vision to the stage.

  • 8th Grade: The art of acting comes to life as students fine-tune their stage presence, preparing for the thrill of live performances.

Each year builds on the last so that students develop a well-rounded appreciation for everything that makes theater magical.

Growing Together Through Theater

Theater is all about working together!

Whether they’re writing a skit, rehearsing a scene, or performing for their peers, students learn how to divide responsibilities, support one another, and bring out the best in their team.

Weekly skits give everyone the chance to try new roles and provide constructive feedback, helping them grow both creatively and personally.

Students also study past and current performances as they work to innovate their own renditions, drawing inspiration while adding their own creative spin.

Leadership in Action

In Theater, our students have a variety of opportunities to step up as leaders.

From directing their peers during skits to taking on behind-the-scenes roles like stage management or tech design, there are endless opportunities to take the lead.

These experiences help our students build confidence, make decisions, and learn what it means to guide a team.
