Leader in Me

The Leader in Me program is an evidence-based, social-emotional learning curriculum—developed in partnership with educators—that empowers students with the leadership and life skills they need to thrive in the 21st century.
Rooted in the secular principles and practices of personal, interpersonal, and organizational effectiveness, the Leader in Me program nurtures the “whole child,” helping each student uncover their unique strengths and develop habits that lead to lifelong success.
It empowers students to become self-reliant, manage emotions, and resolve conflicts, cultivating not just academic success but also personal growth to truly create a well-rounded educational experience.

The Foundation: The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
The Leader in Me program is built around the timeless principles of Stephen Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. These habits provide students with a framework for personal and interpersonal growth, teaching them how to lead themselves and work effectively with others.

The Heart of Leadership: Social-Emotional Learning
At the foundation of the Leader in Me program lies a deep commitment to social-emotional learning (SEL)—the art of helping children understand themselves, connect with others, and navigate life with confidence and compassion. By teaching skills like self-awareness, empathy, and relationship building, SEL equips students to lead not just in school, but in every area of their lives.

My son's leadership roles at school have taught him responsibility and commitment to a greater purpose. The confidence and leadership skills he has gained at BECS have helped him earn leadership roles on basketball and soccer teams outside of Bromley.
