Assessments

Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) are the system of statewide tests in English language arts, math, science, and social studies that are given to all Colorado students in grades three through high school.

At BECS, we administer CMAS assessments in grades 3 – 8.

• CoAlt (Science and Social Studies) 
• DLM (ELA and Math)

Colorado Alternative Testing (CoAlt) is given to students in grades 3-8 who meet the participation guidelines for the CoAlt assessments. These assessments include academic content areas of English language arts, math, science, and social studies.

A student's Individual Education Program (IEP) team will make the decision if the student will participate in the CoAlt or CMAS assessments.

The ACCESS assessment allows educators, students, and families to monitor students’ progress in acquiring academic English in the domains of speaking, listening, reading, and writing aligned with the WIDA English Language Development (ELD) Standards.

At BECS, we administer ACCESS to all Non-English Proficient (NEP) and Limited English Proficient (LEP) students.

Acadience Reading assessments provide universal screening for students.  It allows teachers to identify students that need additional reading support.  

Bromley gives this assessment to all students in grades K-3.

The Cognitive Abilities Test measures the level and pattern of cognitive development in three different areas, verbal, quantitative, and non-verbal. These scores provide one data point to be used in conjunction with other data points to measure abilities and skills.

It is given to students in grades 2 and 6.

NAEP, also known as the Nation's Report Card, is a congressionally mandated program that is overseen and administered by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), within the U.S. Department of Education and the Institute of Education Sciences. The NAEP provides important information about student academic achievement and learning experiences in various subjects across the nation for students in grades 4, 8 and 12.

Districts and schools are selected at random. Should Bromley students be selected to participate, families will be notified prior to the assessment.

GOLD Readiness, also known as the Kindergarten Readiness assessment, is an outcomes reporting option that enables you to measure the readiness of children's knowledge, skills, and abilities as children enter kindergarten.

GOLD Readiness is established for each area by summing the ratings of children’s knowledge, skills, and abilities and comparing this total score to the benchmark for the area. Outcome classification is binary, such that scores at or above the benchmark mean the requisite skills for K-Readiness have been met.

This screener assessment is given three times a year in reading and math. The assessments measure how students are learning compared to other students in their grade. The purpose of this assessment is to help identify students who are excelling and on track or who may need additional support. Students who are receiving additional support (interventions) may also take progress monitoring assessments to track their progress with specific learning goals.

At BECS, we administer Fastbridge assessments to the following grades:
