Our Story

Tucked away in the heart of Bromley Park, a charming neighborhood in Brighton, Colorado, Bromley East Charter School (BECS) has been a familiar and evolving presence for over 22 years.

Since 2001, our school has been an integral part of a flourishing community where children can safely walk to school, surrounded by the warmth and support of their neighborhood. Through its many names, leaders, and teaching approaches over the years, BECS has grown alongside the families it serves, while remaining deeply rooted in its founding mission to provide an environment where students receive not only top-tier education but also holistic personal development.

In recent years, our journey has been marked by the unforeseen challenges of the pandemic. However, these trials have set the stage for a period of recovery and reinvention, led by Jennifer Shaver, our new Executive Director. Jennifer is the guiding force ushering in a new era of excellence and renaissance here at Bromley East, championing a school culture that celebrates cultural inclusivity and fosters strong community bonds.

At the heart of this transformation is our commitment to our core values of SOAR – Success, Ownership, Attitude, and Respect. These principles, mirrored in the flight of Brock the Hawk, our beloved mascot, guide our school's ethos. They’re woven into the fabric of our Leader in Me curriculum, which shapes not only our students – the future leaders of tomorrow – but also provides a solid foundation for staff and community interactions.

As we move forward, our focus is on continuous improvement, strengthening the bonds within our community, and nurturing a culture where every student feels safe and encouraged to learn. United under the wings of Brock the Hawk, we’re not just a charter school, we’re a family committed to SOARing high, fostering a legacy of leaders poised for the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow!
